Project Goal
In partnership with the Human Resources team, Momentum Leadership was chosen to create, deliver and assess the return on investment (ROI) of a competency-based talent development model.

Process and Tools
  • Built executive agreement on a talent development approach and appropriate competencies
  • Delivered talent development training to 121 individuals
  • Provided coaching and development planning to approximately 20 individuals
  • Created pre- and post-project measurement survey to assess ROI of project

Engagement Approach
The executive team considered the 2010 Business Strategy and determined the mission-critical employee competencies needed to execute the strategy. Four years later, the organization retains a competency model that can be used for recruitment, development and promotion. Employees are better able to understand what drives high performance and job promotions by utilizing the 360 assessment and related training/tools.

Measurable Results

Talent Development Activities Improve Performance
Managers of coaching clients report:
  • Improvement in direct reports behavior and performance since beginning of coaching (78%)
  • Improvement in two competency focus areas (80%)
  • Positive feedback from others regarding improvements in client's two competency focus areas (63%)
  • Improvement in ability to hold meaningful development discussions with direct report, due to training and coaching experience (81%)
